Open letter to the Serbian Consulate, Australia
We demand the release by the Serbian government of Ratibor Trivunac, Tadej Kurepa, Ivan Vulović, Sanja Đokić and Nikola Mitrović, members of the Anarcho-Syndicalist Initiative (ASI). We protest the unjust arrest and detainment of our comrades on trumped-up charges, which the ASI has vehemently denied (http://slackbastard.anarchobase.com/?p=7227).
This attack on the ASI, and by extension the International Workers Association (IWA), is an attack on organised labour everywhere. All dissenters should be concerned by the trend towards labelling all dissent “terrorism.” The latest escalation of oppression by the Serbian government comes after an ASI member was arrested for the trivial offence burning an American flag. Clearly there is an attempt to target the ASI. This will not go unnoticed internationally.
Even today, in coordination with this action comrades are also protesting at the Serbian consulate in Britain.

Thursday October 1 there was a demo in Bern by FAU. People gathered at the station marched towards the Embassy through the old town. There were about thirty people. They distributed leaflets and spoke outside the embassy and then returned to the station where there was another speech.
A second protest was held on Sunday Oct. 4 in front of the Embassy. Again the rally was organized by FAU. FAU is like ASI: a rank and file trade union. That is to say without a trade union officials and with workers’ autonomy.
At 19:00 30-40 people gathered and left the station towards the Serbian embassy with banners and flags going noisily through the downtown. Hundreds of flyers informing people of the situation of the accused were distributed. Before the Serbian Embassy, an open letter to their ambassadors was read. After that, the protesters went back to the station. Finally, an open letter to Serbian intellectuals supporting the accused was read under the canopy (outside the station). Around 20:15, the event was dissolved by its organizers.

Today at 2p.m. in the center of St. Petersburg, anarchists made a solidarity action in support of 6 comrades arrested in Serbia. We stuck a big poster with information and portraits of our comrades to a news stand, distributed leaflets and invited people to sign postcards with words of support to Serbian comrades. The action went on for about an hour. Nobody was detained.
Repressive authorities use the same methods all over the world. We believe that international solidarity can change the situation to the better.

Over 50 people demonstrated in from of the Serbian Embassy on Oct. 2 to demand the release of the Serbian comrades. The Secretary of the Madrid Local Federation gave in a letter on behalf of the entire CNT and the people stayed outside the Embassy for about 2 hours. Despite the excessive police presence there were no major altercations.
People various slogans demanding freedom for the anarchists, demanding an end to all prisons, noting that the struggle for the emancipation of workers is an international struggle, and that this is only the beginning.
And indeed it is. This is the beginning because if they continue to hold our comrades, we will strike where it hurts the Serbian State and we will do it with all the strength we can muster.
The next demo is this Saturday, October 3, at 12, Anarchists and workers supported this appeal and will show that when an injury to one is an injury to all. The only terrorist in Serbia is the governmental apparatus of repression, so boycott and sabotage state interests.

Zu einer Solidaritätskundgebung für die verhafteten GenossInnen der ASI trafen sich zur Mittagszeit Mitglieder der Frankfurter Antifa und der FAU vor dem serbischen Generalkonsulat. Sie forderten die sofortige Freilassung der sechs verhafteten serbischen AnarchosyndikalistInnen in Belgrad und es wurde ein offener Brief serbischer Intellektueller verlesen (siehe Anhang). Im Anschluß an die Kundgebung wurde der Konsulin ein Protestschreiben zur Weiterleitung an die serbische Regierung übergeben.
Die 6 GenossInnen der kleinen Gewerkschaft “Anarhosindikalisticka inicijativa” befinden sich derzeit wegen dem Vorwurf des “internationalen Terrorismus” in Untersuchungshaft. Zum Vorwand dafür dienten Sachbeschädigungen an der giechischen Botschaft in Belgrad. Ein an die Wand gesprühtes A im Kreis, eine gesprungene Scheibe und ein Brandfleck an der Fassade, verursacht durch einen Molotowcocktail, der am 25. August auf die Botschaft geworfen wurde.
Zu der Aktion, die aus Solidarität mit einem zu dieser Zeit im Hungerstreik befindlichen griechischen Anarchisten stattfand, hat sich eine unbekannte Gruppe namens “Crni Ilija” (Schwarze Sonne) bekannt.
“Intellektuelle verteidigen Anarchisten”
Die österreichische Solidaritätsseite mit den gefangenen serbischen AnarchosyndikalistInnen hat eine deutsche Übersetzung der solidarischen Stellungnahme serbischer Intellektueller veröffentlicht.
Hier ist jener Brief den die “Intellektuellen” geschrieben haben, auf deutsch übersetzt. Der Text ist wichtig, weil dieser der einzige Kritische ist, der in der Öffentlichkeit zu diesem Thema erschienen ist und weil er von Menschen geschrieben wurde, deren Meinung in der (serbischen) Gesellschaft wichtig ist. Dieser Text ist in fast allen Zeitungen unter dem Titel “Intelektuelle verteidigen Anarchisten” erschienen.
“Mit diesem Brief wollen wir unsere Besorgnis wegen der Ankündigung der staatlichen Verfolgunsorgane zeigen, die eine Anklage wegen internationalen Terrorismus gegen die sechs Verdächtigen für den neulichen Angriff an der griechischen Botschaft in Belgrad mit “Moltov Cocktails” erheben wollen.
Ohne den Wunsch diese Tat zu rechtfertigen, halten wir es für unsere Pflicht aufzuzeigen, dass aus politischen Hintergründen hier mit zweierlei Mass gemessen wird und das dies verheerende Auswirkungen auf die weitere Entwicklung unsere Gesellschaft haben könnte.
Es ist nicht so lange her,das es während des Protestes am 21. Februar 2008., nach der Proklamation der Unabhängigkeit des Kosovos, die Botschaft der Vereinigten Staaten Amerikas in Belgrad angezündet worden ist. Das Gebäude der Botschaft wurde durch einen Bradanschlag schwer beschädigt, während einer der Angreifer sein Leben verloren hat. Nur ein Teilnehmer des Angriffs wurde verhaftet und ist für die schwere Tat Gefährdung der allgemeine Sicherheit angeklagt worden.
Hingegen diesem Fall, charakterisieren die staatlichen Organe das Zerbrechen von einem Fenster an dem leeren Gebäude der griechischen Botschaft, das mit zwei angezündete Flaschen, die keinen Brand verursacht haben, als einen Akt des internationalen Terrorismus, welcher in dem Strafgesetz der Republik Serbien direkt neben der Durchführung von Genoziden, Kriegsverbrechen und Anführung eines aggresiven Kriegs steht.
Es gibt die Befürchtung, dass die paradox unterschiedliche Positionierung der Verfolgungsorgane in diesen zwei Fällen politisch bedingt ist und das dies das Bestreben der aktuellen Regierung ist, um seine Popularität bei den nationalistisch orientierten Teil der Wähler zu verstärken. Dies fördert auch chovinistische und rechtsextremistische Tendenzen in unserer Gesellschaft, wie diese die ohne größerer rechtliche Folgen anfang 2008 im oben beschriebenen Brandanschlag der Botschaften in Belgrad bei den Angreifern ausschlaggebend war. Gerade aus diesen Gründen wenden wir uns an die Öffentlich und die zuständigen staatlichen Organe, in der Hoffnung, dass wir dazu beitragen, dass Gesetze bei jeden Teilnehmer der Gesellschaft gleichermaßen durchgeführt und an der Seriösität der Tat bemessen werden.”

On Sept. 28, another solidarity picket was held in front of the Serbian Embassy in London. Members of SolFed, who called the action, demand the release of the comrades and an end to political repression.
SolFed also held a solidarity picket there on Sept. 11.
On 29th of September 2009, a protest was held in front of the Serbian embassy in Budapest.
The coalition of anarchist movements of Budapest, together with the activists from Croatia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Slovakia stated their support for the imprisoned anarcho-syndicalists in Belgrade.
The protest should have started at 6:30 PM, but in front of the embassy at that time a group of about 20 football hooligans was waiting, with flags and scarfs.
Around 30 activists gathered a bit later, so the protest ended without incidents.
Two transparents were placed on the fence of the embassy, around 200 of flayers were given to the public and the statement of solidarity was glued all over the embassy’s panels.
Solidarity actions will be continued.

On Sept. 25 there was a solidarity picket in front of the Serbian Embassy in the city of Skopje. The action was organized by the Anarchist Front, who demanded the release of the Serbian comrades.

On Sept. 18 there was a picket in front of the Serbian EMbassy in the Hague. The action was organized by AGA. Protestors demanded the release of the anarchists. The picket lasted about 2 hours.
Στις 18 Σεπτέμβρη έγινε διαμαρτυρία μπροστά στη Σερβική πρεσβεία στη Χάγη. Η συγκέντρωση οργανώθηκε από την AGA (Αναρχική Ομάδα Άμστερνταμ). Οι διαδηλωτές απαίτησαν την απελευθέρωση των αναρχικών. Η διαμαρτυρία διήρκησε περίπου 2 ώρες.
Διαμαρτυρία στη Σερβική πρεσβεία στο Βερολίνο
Παρασκευή 18 Σεπτέμβρη ακτιβιστές διαμαρτυρήθηκαν έξω από τη Σερβική πρεσβεία στο Βερολίνο (Γερμανία) απαιτώντας την απελευθέρωση των Σέρβων συνδικαλιστών. Η συγκέντρωση καλέστηκε από την Ελεύθερη Εργατική Ένωση FAU (Free Workers’ Union, FAU).
Ο λόγος που έγινε αυτή η συγκέντρωση ήταν η σύλληψη πέντε αναρχοσυνδικαλιστών (ΣτΜ έξι είναι τώρα) στο Βελιγράδι στις αρχές του Σεπτέμβρη. Οι περισσότεροι από αυτούς είναι μέλη της Αναρχοσυνδικαλιστικής Πρωτοβουλίας ASI (Anarchosyndicalist Initiative, ASI). Οι Σερβικές αρχές τώρα δε λένε τίποτε σχετικά με τους λόγους των συλλήψεων. Κατά πάσα πιθανότατα θα πάνε να τους συνδέσουν με την επίθεση στην Ελληνική Πρεσβεία στα τέλη του Αυγούστου και θα τρέξουν την υπόθεση ως υπόθεση τρομοκρατίας. Τα Σερβικά ΜΜΕ ξεκίνησαν προσπάθεια στοχοποίησης εναντίων της ASI σχεδόν αμέσως μετά την επίθεση κατά της Πρεσβείας (ΣτΜ έμφαση όχι στο πρωτότυπο). Η ASI έχει αποστασιωποιηθεί από την επίθεση, την ευθύνη της οποίας ανέλαβε μια ομάδα με το όνομα «Crni Ilija».
Η ASI, όπως και η Γερμανική αδελφική της οργάνωση FAU, παλεύει για μια αυτο-οργανωμένη, λαϊκή (grassroots) και μαχητική (militant) εργατική ένωση. Και η FAU και η ASI είναι μέλη της Διεθνούς Ένωσης Εργατών IWA (International Workers’ Association, IWA), της οποίας χρέη γραμματέα είχε αναλάβει η ASI.
Στη συγκέντρωση έγινε απαιτητή η άμεση απελευθέρωση των Σέρβων συνδικαλιστών και το τέλος της ποινικοποίησης των πολιτικών ακτιβιστών.

11 września odbyły się pikiety solidarnościowe dla zatrzymanych anarchistów z Serbii w Londynie, Melbourne, Wiedniu oraz w Warszawie. Wcześniej odbyły się pikiety w Ljubljanie, Warszawie, Lizbonie, Pradze i Wiedniu. Zaplanowane są kolejne akcje w przyszłym tygodniu.

Na całym świecie nadal odbywają się i są zaplanowane pikiety solidarnościowe z anarchistami zatrzymanymi w Belgradzie. Pikiety odbyły się 11 września w Sydney, 14 września w Bratysławie i Zagrzebiu, 15 września w Moskwie i Kijowie. Dziś odbędą się kolejne pikiety w Atenach, Salonikach oraz w Hamburgu.
Nadal nie ma wiadomości od zatrzymanych.

Dziś odbyły się demonstracje w Salonikach oraz w Hamburgu. Aktywiści domagali się natychmiastowego uwolnienia wszystkich zatrzymanych.
Wczoraj pod konsulatem serbskim w Salonikach zgromadziło się dużo policji. Oddziały prewencji zablokowały ulicę, by uniemożliwić ludziom podejście pod konsulat.
W Hamburgu również członkowie VAB Altona protestowali i wręczyli list protestacyjny.
Więcej demonstracji jest zapowiedziane w Niemczej w tym tygodniu.
